Work

I have placed my work into four subject categories that broadly describe the ideas and inspiration that I have had over the years. My path as a painter in oil on canvas has been one of serendipity, the love of life and all that it has thrown at me both good and bad. The natural world in all its guises never ceases to be both an inspiration and challenge, bolts of beauty come out of the blue and it is the essence of place that I endeavour to capture.

‘If a journey is a good metaphor for art and life, then Katherine Hamilton is an excellent example of a valiant explorer – always taking off in new directions and telling vivid traveller’s tales in panoramic pictures crackling with light, colour, absorbed activity and authentic local atmosphere.’ Ian Collins
